1925 BUGATTI T23 BRESCIA
Registration: UK registeredChassis Number: 2386Engine Number: 920Mille Miglia Coefficient: 1.7Sewell and Morris ReportFIVA to be reregistered with new owner
This particular model was one of five Type 23 vehicles dispatched from Molsheim, destined for the renowned London-based agent Chas. Jarrot & Letts Ltd. Off these five cars, numbered 2383 to 2387, only three have endured the test of time. This car, chassis number 2386, equipped with the iconic 16-valve engine, is one of the fortunate survivors.
This car was delivered to the London Bugatti agent in chassis form during 1925 and was first registered on the 11th of November 1925 with the current registration number.
Mechanical specifications are original (although the engine block was changed in the 1950s when the original engine was damaged). The present body, a close replica of the body that is believed to have been fitted to the car originally, was fitted in 1989, replacing a stark race about body that had been fitted in the late 1950s.
The original engine 758 from 2386 still exists and is presently fitted to another Bugatti T23.
Under the hood, the engine of this car is impeccably detailed and well-kept, a testament to the care and attention it has received. Extensive work has been undertaken, including a top-end rebuild and a new cylinder block. The bottom end of the engine was also separately rebuilt by marque specialist Ivan Dutton, ensuring its reliability and performance. The radiator has been replaced by Anglia Radiators, the clutch has been converted from wet to dry, while the original parts have been retained with the car, showcasing the meticulousness of the restoration work.
The car comes with an extensive history file, including a Sewell report as well as detailed documentation of the restoration. The file also contains a trove of correspondence from previous owners, providing valuable insights into the car's history.
The car is accompanied by an expired FIVA Passport with an A3 classification. Notably, there are substantial invoices from Gentry Restorations dating back to 2014, attesting to the investments made in restoring and maintaining the car to its current condition.
Price is 420,000.00 euro
