The Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring pack may fly under the radar – as much as any Porsche 911 can – but it's all GT3, which means it's a car that redefines steely-edged focus and raw energy. There's prodigious torque available from any revs for driving at slower speeds and taking it easy around town, but once the tacho hits 5000rpm with the throttle wide open, the GT3 is just explosive. Such is the performance and the closely clustered ratios of the six-speed gearbox. The tachometer is redlined at 9000rpm, but there's still abundant performance to be had changing up to the next gear at 8000rpm or lower. It's a monster of an engine that removes the need to wring its neck.

De Porsche 911 GT3 met Touring-pakket valt misschien niet direct op – zover dat überhaupt mogelijk is voor een Porsche 911 – maar het is volledig een GT3, wat betekent dat het een auto is die een ongekende focus en rauwe energie herdefinieert. Er is een overvloed aan koppel beschikbaar bij elk toerental om rustig door de stad te rijden, maar zodra de toerenteller 5000 toeren per minuut bereikt en het gas vol wordt ingetrapt, is de GT3 gewoon explosief. Dat komt door de prestaties en de nauw op elkaar afgestemde verhoudingen van de zestraps versnellingsbak. De toerenteller is rood gemarkeerd bij 9000 toeren per minuut, maar er is nog steeds veel vermogen beschikbaar bij het schakelen naar de volgende versnelling bij 8000 toeren per minuut of lager. Het is een monster van een motor die het overbodig maakt om hem tot het uiterste te drijven.

Un couple prodigieux est disponible à tous les régimes pour rouler à basse vitesse et se déplacer tranquillement en ville, mais une fois que le compte-tours atteint 5000 tr/min avec l'accélérateur à fond, la GT3 devient tout simplement explosive. Telles sont les performances et les rapports étroitement regroupés de la boîte de vitesses à six rapports. Le compte-tours est limité à 9000 tr/min, mais il reste encore de la puissance en passant à la vitesse suivante à 8000 tr/min ou moins. C'est un monstre de moteur qui élimine le besoin de le pousser à ses limites.
